Initial ELPAC Administration and Scoring Makeup Trainings
The Initial English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) testing window will begin on July 1, 2018. The state-sponsored makeup trainings will take place from August 1 through August 10, 2018.
Attendance at Statewide Makeup Trainings
For new local educational agency (LEA) ELPAC Coordinators and trainers, or those who were unable to attend the spring 2018 Initial ELPAC Administration and Scoring Trainings and/or the fall 2017 Summative ELPAC Administration and Scoring Trainings, these 3 two-day Initial ELPAC trainings offer an opportunity to attend missed training. These are makeup trainings only.
This training series will focus primarily on the local scoring of the Initial ELPAC Writing and Speaking domains. The training will run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Day one will cover the Initial ELPAC Writing domain, and day two will cover the Initial ELPAC Speaking domain. LEA ELPAC Coordinators and trainers may register for either or both training days.
The California Department of Education–sponsored statewide trainings will take place from August 1 through August 10, 2018. The schedule is shown below. Trainings are scheduled for the following dates and locations:
2018–19 Training Overview
The 2018–19 Initial ELPAC Administration and Scoring Makeup Trainings will provide an overview of the test administration. This training series will focus primarily on the local scoring of the Initial ELPAC Writing and Speaking domains. Day one will cover the Initial ELPAC Writing domain, and day two will cover the Initial ELPAC Speaking domain.
Registration will open on Monday, May 7, 2018. In May, LEA ELPAC Coordinators will receive an e-mail containing registration information for their LEA. Please note that due to the limited number of seats at each training, only the LEA ELPAC Coordinator will be allowed to register new participants for the trainings.
Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis, until each training site is full. LEAs may register all of their staff for one location or each participant for separate locations.
